Mthethwa Trial | Judgement transcript

A news item by Artthrob on the 16th of March 2017. This should take you < 1 minute to read.

Earlier today, the 16th March 2017, the court’s judgement on the State vs Mthethwa murder trial was heard, and the accused was found guilty. Read our editor’s report from inside the courtroom here.

In the interests of the art community, and absolute accuracy, we are posting the Western Cape High Court transcript of that judgement to our site. You can access the transcript below:

Regarding sentencing on the 29th March, Adv Christhénus van der Vijver has informed us that “[t]here is a minimum sentence of 15 years applicable, in other words, that will be the departure point. She can give less if there are compelling and substantial circumstances. On the other hand, there is always the possibility that she may even give more than 15 years if there are aggravating circumstances.”
