The sixth annual Cape Town Festival

Between the extended deadline for submissions, an increase in arts proposals and an extension in the period allocated for the festival, the 2005 Cape Town festival has the locals abuzz. The sixth annual arts, culture and heritage celebration will be held from March 6 to March 25.
While the event intends to be a broad-based celebration of local arts communities, the performing arts seem destined to dominate, comprising over 90% of submissions received. The number of venues hosting productions has doubled from last year and will include Spier, Artscape, Baxter and Distrix Caf? among others.
