A decade for Cuyler Street Art Gallery

The Cuyler Street Art Gallery is promoting the accomplishments of local artists by orchestrating an exchange with the William Humphries Art Gallery in Kimberley. Owner Tossie Theron has curated an exhibition of 60 artists who will exhibit in Kimberley beginning on February 8
In return, artists from Kimberley will be exhibited at the Cuyler Street Art Gallery. At a moment when South African artists are finally beginning to receive their due acclaim, all too often local artists still lack the resources to exhibit outside their immediate vicinities. This hurts not only the artists themselves, but other artists hoping to experience what their peers may be creating, as well as audiences who wish to see more national work but are unable to do so.
This type of exchange will foster further dialogue, and hopefully awaken to the expansive nature of arts in South Africa today.
