Gun Free South Africa national art competition
The advocacy organisation Gun Free South Africa is holding a national art competition with the hope that the opportunity will allow artists 'to portray a move from this reality of violence in our society to envision a better future.' With the alarming number of deaths by gun in South Africa, this is an attempt to encourage artists to create their solutions.
The competition is open to all ages and artists are asked to submit two pieces of work, which address 'the reality of violence in society today' and 'the future we want to create for our nation.'
Specifications and other details as well as an application form can be found at www.gca.org.za. Submissions must be received by February 18 and judging will take place at month end.
