Margot Lovejoy's Turns (2001) collects and shares
personal stories of life's turning points. Each story is presented
as a pebble-like shape in a narrative pool. One by one every
story can be opened and by closing it returns it to the reserves
of collective memories. Visitors may browse through 12 categories
such as relationship, education or health and contribute their
own stories. One can also commit and draw a "life map", representing
the course or states of their lives.
Turns reflects on the role of one's story in a social
remembrance and transforms the Internet into a base for collective,
social consciousness/memory.
