A new emblem for parliament
A new emblem for the Parliament of South Africa has been unveiled as the result of a process which brought twenty entrants chosen from across South Africa to Cape Town tp attend a design workshop in Cape Town. Their designs were further refined by the Bureau of Heraldry to ensure heraldic and design specifications were adhered to. A Political Steering committee and a panel of experts guided the process internally.

According to the press release, the launch of the new emblem is the first step in communicating the new positioning of Parliament to the public, and is supposed to
embody Parliament�s �vision, mission and values�.
One hopes it is read this way. On the subject of its aesthetic value, probably the less said the better.
