New exhibition space at the KZNSA

The KZNSA is once more in the news, this time with new developments and expansions to the popular Arts Café and, more significantly, a new addition to the gallery space to be called The Nivea Gallery.
KZNSA CEO Trevor Moore points out that the new space is specifically intended for young, up-and-coming artists to showcase their works. Nivea's contribution to the local arts scene began in 2004 with 'Start -The Nivea Arts Awards'. The creation of this gallery space is a pledge by the cosmetics company who are keen to see the development of young artists in the area. The new space will host exhibitions by such artists, giving the public an opportunity to purchase some of KZN's freshest talent and, as importantly, allowing young artists to exhibit in one of Durban's top contemporary spaces and the opportunity to sell their works.
The Nivea Gallery will occupy what was previously the Park Gallery. Building has already begun, with the addition of three walls to the space. Inaugural plans include an exhibition of the winners of this year's Awards.
The Nivea Gallery will be operational by the end of March.
