The Rhinos Are Coming will host a 3-month long public art exhibition with a difference; we aim to protect and conserve our rhino population through art. Our canvasses are life-sized fiberglass rhinos that are to be painted by both established and up & coming local artists. As a local artist, we encourage you to use your imagination to come up with unique, fun, and brilliant locally-inspired designs for our rhinos, which will stampede through the Mother City in the summer of 2017 and 2018.
We already have 8 extraordinary rhinos, painted by local artists, who have made their way around the Mother City and the Winelands. Our rhinos were also the stars of the show at the WAA Conference held at the Cape Town Stadium in April 2017. By the end of 2017, we aim to have a crash of 120 rhinos parading around our city!
