FNB Art Joburg has announced that the fair’s 13th edition will take place online.

Given the current COVID-19 global pandemic, FNB Art Joburg has taken the decision to cancel its physical event (previously scheduled for 3-6 September, 2020 at Sandton Convention
Centre) and shift to an online, digital fair.

FNB Art Joburg online will preview on 3 September and launch to the public the next day on 4 September, running for three weeks through 23 September. The online edition will be free and open to all.

“Though it may not look like our traditional format, we are embracing the possibilities presented by technology and will be introducing augmented and virtual reality exhibition experiences alongside a more traditional web platform,” says FNB Art Joburg Founding Director Mandla Sibeko.

The online edition will have two sections, the main section and the Gallery LAB. The Gallery LAB, introduced in 2019, will once again be curated by Nicole Siegenthaler and Banele Khoza.
