This print forms part of a portfolio titled 20/20 which aims to promote 20 younger artists’ work through print editions of 20, made specifically for ArtThrob.
Richard Muduriki (b. 1985) was born in Zimbabwe, and is currently based in Cape Town, South Africa.
Mudariki is represented by Johans Borman Fine Art in South Africa, and ARTCO Galerie, Germany. Recent solo exhibitions include ‘Open Agenda’ (2014) and ‘My Reality’ (2012), both at Johans Borman Fine Art, Cape Town. Selected group exhibitions include ‘Spectra’ (2015) at Johans Borman Fine Art, Cape Town; ‘Claim of the Land’ (2015) at the AVA Gallery, Cape Town; ‘Past and Present: 40 years’ (2015) at Gallery Delta, Harare; and the ‘Zimbabwe Annual Exhibition’ (2014) at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Harare.
BIOGRAPHY_
Born 1985 in Zimbabwe, Richard Mudariki is a full time professional painter who lives and works in Cape Town, South Africa. He studied under the mentorship of renowned painter Helen Lieros and Greg Shaw at Gallery Delta in Harare. Known for his original modernist paintings full of social commentary on various issue in Africa, he has participated in various major exhibitions in South Africa, Germany, London and Zimbabwe.
He holds a Hon. Bachelor of Arts Degree in Archaeology, Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies.
