Art in Joburg – come for the weekend or just part of it
Friday 16 June 2017 (Youth Day public holiday) to Sunday 18 June afternoon
Meet creators and curators in Johannesburg, one of Africa’s key centres for contemporary art. We’ll visit a variety of studios, including Artist Proof Studio to see the printing of Kentridge’s and emerging artists’ work. We’ll experience the energy and creativity of Maboneng and Braamfontein – going to new places as well as the Constitutional Court with its fusion of architecture and art. At the Keyes Art Mile we’ll see different angles of art and design. Saturday’s supper will be hosted by an artist in the flat of the founder and gallerist of Guns & Rain.
Cost: on enquiry – it depends on whether you wish to come for the whole or part of the programme.
