Drone Chorus:

Score for Solidarity

A news item by ArtThrob Editors on the 6th of May 2026. This should take you 2 minutes to read.

This is an open action score for a Solidarity Drone Chorus conceived by a group of artists of In Minor Keys, by Koyo Kouoh, the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia.

It is inspired by the Drone song by Gazan composer Ahmed Muin. The action involves producing a sustained humming by means of the voice and/or a recorded drone in order to sonically occupy space. It seeks to draw attention to the plight of those affected by genocide and war in Palestine and elsewhere – and the impunity afforded to those perpetrating it.

During the preview days of La Biennale, the actions will take place every day at 12 pm at the following locations:

May 5th: Giardini – Avenue leading up to the main Pavilion
May 6th: Arsenale – Gather at Refaat Alareer’s poem
May 7th: Garibaldi Fountain at the end of Garibaldi Street
May 8th: Arsenale– in front of the metal door at the entrance

SCORE
1. Download the drone audio file on your phone.

Optional:
a. Set the song as your alarm sound (instructions for Android/iPhone [requires

b. Set an alarm for 12:00 pm noon (for the day you will join the action OR every day)

2. Meet at the designated location for the action at 11:55 am.
3. At 12:00, start the drone sound on your phone (if you set an alarm, it will go off
