The evening of the 25th August starts at Sue Williamson’s studio in Salt River to hear more about her new monograph, and her take on the art scene. Sue has a highly respected position in the South African art world, as an artist and writer. Supper will be close by. On the 2nd September, co-curator Andrea Lewis will lead our tour of the large survey of South African art, ‘Studio’, at the Iziko South African National Gallery; lunch afterwards.

Sue Williamson’s work is internationally recognised. Part of the 1970s pioneering generation of artists, her work continues to address social issues. Sue is also an acclaimed art writer. She founded ArtThrob, a key source of information about South Africa’s contemporary art. For this Culture Connect (a first) Sue will talk about her work and the art-scene here. ArtThrob’s latest limited editions and Sue’s new book will be available. Our three course sit down dinner is nearby at Julia Hattingh’s new eatery, with its long one table.
