The Board of the Association for Visual Arts, in partnership with Nini Gallery, cordially invites you to the opening of an exhibition of works on paper and wood by Eltayeb Dawelbait. The exhibition is the result of a residency at the AVA’s new studio space.
Eltayeb Dawelbait, though born and educated in Sudan, has been living and working in Nairobi, Kenya. Discared wood and sheets of metal are his canvas, as is paper and other found materials. His mysterious creations appear in old doors and kitchen drawers, hinges and rusty metal plates. As if they were always there.
Opening on Thursday 1 December 2016 at 18h00.
Residency farewell ceremony on 3 December 2016 at 12 noon.
Exhibitions run until 31 December 2016.
