Goodman Gallery‘s booth at Art Basel forms part of a trinity of exhibitions in celebration of their 50 year anniversary, entitled New Revolutions and curated by Liza Essers. Goodman is showing work by Kudzanai Chiurai, Hasan & Husain Essop, Kendell Geers, mounir fatmi, David Goldblatt, Alfredo Jaar, William Kentridge, Gerald Machona, Gerhard Marx, Walter Oltmann, Tracey Rose, Hank Willis Thomas, and Clive van den Berg. The Basel exhibition ‘considers the gallery’s inception into a period that necessitated a radical response to the status quo in South Africa – showing work that builds upon and expands this legacy.’
In addition, William Kentridge is at Art Unlimited with Notes Towards a Model Opera (2015), and Alfredo Jaar and Tracey Rose will be at Parcours.
Some of Goodman’s sales were reported in artnet New’s Basel 2016 report.
